John Edwards indicted on charges related to affair cover up
Former U.S. presidential candidate John Edwards was Friday in a investigation into alleged campaign finance law violations to hide an extramarital affair, a legal source familiar with the matter said.

WASHINGTON — Former U.S. presidential hopeful John Edwards was indicted on six counts on Friday for covering up an extramarital affair, a fall from grace for the former senator and trial lawyer who was once expected to go far in American politics.
Mr. Edwards, 57, was charged with conspiracy, illegal campaign contributions and making false statements, according to a 19-page indictment. Ahead of the expected indictment, his attorney denied any wrongdoing.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Mr. Edwards according to court records filed in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina
